HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG BOY!!

Tomorrow marks Jonathan's 5th birthday. I can hardly believe that it has been 5 years since he entered our world. About 5 years ago at this moment my wife was yelling at me, pinching me, and squeezing my arm as the labor pains came. I remember it like yesterday. Through all that, Jon came into my life and it will never be the same!! Jon, you will always be my "little man". I love you.

Hello Dolly

BULLSEYE: BROWNSVILLE

Brownsville, TX has made the news once again (not for anything good, but once again something bad). For those of you who don't know Dave was born and raised in B'ville, Texas. This is also where I finished school at the University of Texas at B'ville and where we met. So please pray for David's family and all our friends because we South Floridians know what a pain hurricanes can be. Seriously, do pray that the levees hold on the Rio Grande because Dave's Dad and Grandparents
literally live right on the levees .
(yes, I copied this from my wife's blog)

Camp

Holy cow I survived high school camp: 5 days of praise and worship, awesome teaching, and just plain craziness. FRC student ministry joined forces with StudentLife for high school camp at Stetson University in Deland (up by Daytona). Lives of many students were touched as well as the leaders.
I only had 3 students from Doral go, but I quickly connected with many other students from Cooper. It was great to hang out with our new Global Student Pastor, Scot Mendlehall, and with the student pastors from Sawgrass, Jesse Acosta and Hallandale, Eric Howard.
On a crazy note Pastor Scot challenged our whole FRC group of students to all jump rope continuously without stopping. One would go then the next person had to jump in and go etc.
It took 3 days for all 92 students to accomplish this mission. What a cool exercise in team building!!

Beach Baptistm

Sunday, I had the privilege to baptize on Hollywood Beach with my fellow FRC pastors. I was so blessed and honored to team up with my friend Pastor Bob Selecky. I'm proud of my 3 students: Megan, Luisa, and Alejandra for taking that next step.
Here are a few photos of that day:

Construction continues

I'm a little behind on my construction blogs. Two weeks ago my father-in-law and I replaced one of our sliding glass doors. Thank goodness he knows how to install windows/doors. We have saved so much $$$ doing the labor ourself. So when the door was in...my payment was to become Mr. B's barber. So we have one large sliding glass door to be installed and of course the floors and baseboards. This is coming along so much slower than I would like and Vicky would like but I'm a busy guy. So little by little.

What happens after the flood...

As you know our house was flooded a little over a month ago. So thankfully we have received our insurance money. In order to save money I have decided to do all the labor myself so we can used the extra funds to replace our windows.
So the first part of the flood repair was replacing 12 inches from the floor of all of the wall in the entire downstairs.
To prevent our trauma of the flood from possibly occurring again, I painted the cement block with Red Guard (you'll see the red on the floor). This seeps in the cracks of the cement block and seals it. It's like a pink blob like substance the dries red. Then I put caulking in every little crack I could see.
The wall I used to replace the damaged drywall is called Hardi Board which is water repellent and really easy to use.
Here are a couple of pictures of the my repair.

Man vs. Drill

The other day while I us building a prop for the school play, I got into a fight with a
18 volt drill. As you can see the drill got me pretty good. It drill me all the way through my thumb. Now I know what you must be thinking, but I do know how to use a drill...but this is just one of those freak accidents where you are in shock from pain and the actual situation. It REALLY HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a positive note.. I totally missed the bone and only drilled through meat...yes, gross but better than a drilled bone.

Wow... I feel loved!!

Thanks to Live Feed...I feel really bad.
Wow so many faithful blog readers still visit me even though I really stink at updating the blog?
I promise to write at least once a week maybe with a little help from Vic.
So here's a brief mind dump of my non-stop life:
1. 2 months ago we started the Doral student band... we've had a few hiccups... but we are getting better. Thanks R&B, Jake and Davi for rockin'.

2. Also I'm happy to see the Miami Cowboys forming... since Parcels has obtained a lot of fomer Cowboy players and coaches.... almost like the real thing I hope.

3. Oh.. yeah my house was flooded... check out Vicky's blog for video.... Thank you God for insurance.
4.My best friends the Logans left to South Africa on Thursday for three years as missionaries. I'm so excited for them and amazed by their faith. Check out their blog http://logansinsa.blogspot.com5. It's Baseball Season........ so guess what that means?!!!

What Happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Cowboys are out of the playoff, and now I can move on with my life.

Monday, December 31, 2007

I'M BACK!!!!

1)WOW! It's been long time since I've blogged and I must say that I missed you all in the blog world. Where do I begin? Let me begin with my Cowboys. We are looking pretty good even if we have lost two more games.

2) Ok, the next event that occurred last month was one of the most important moments in my life. That event was my ordination. I never thought I would be a pastor. I guess you can't run from God's calling on your life, but I'm willing to do whatever he wants my to do.
3) I quit my job last month and it was the easy because of the extreme stress level, but hard because I met a lot of good people there, and I can truly say that I will miss them. I gave up a good paying job, and a great opportunity to answer the call that God has for my life. I am now working at Florida Christian School as a maintenance worker. It's not that most glamorous, but it is a great opportunity for me to go back to school and finish. Also, I am able to spend so much more time with my family.
4) Of course, how can I forget Christmas? Let's just say my boys were so cute. ( Read Vicky's Blog for more info.)

TIME OUT !!!!! Happy New YEAR!!!! (It just became 2008)

5) Last, but not least, my buddy Huber finally made it down to Miami and it was really awesome to see him again. He was injured in Iraq. I thank God that he had His hand on his life.
Before I go, let me just leave you with this; Happy New Year and May God Bless You and your Families
Good Night!
